About Vlissingen:
This city is bustling! Because of its direct location by the sea, with beautiful clean beaches, the cosy promenade and the various harbours.
But Vlissingen also has a cosy city centre where you can shop, eat or visit terraces. The muZeeum and the Cine City cinema are recommended. The city is also highly recommended as a base for a long beach walk, a nice bike ride or a visit to other interesting places on Walcheren such as Veere or Middelburg. Film by the Sea is the fourth film festival in the Netherlands and one of the most important cultural events in Zeeland every year. Here, a wide audience can enjoy over 100 films from all corners of the world, about a third of which are home-grown imports. Not only book adaptations and French-language films, but also Zeeland films and documentaries receive a lot of attention. Film by the Sea attracts around 40,000 visitors. Besides films, Film by the Sea also has an extensive side programme including a script workshop, Q&A' s and various performances.
The unique location by the sea and the ever-surprising programme make Film by the Sea, from the Opening Gala to the Awards Ceremony, a feast every year.

Conviviality, party and fun!
Vlissingen Zingt' is a sing-along party for everyone who likes to sing.
On stage, there is a 'choir' of stage singers alias mood makers, for which anyone who likes it can sign up. The podium singers put everyone in the right mood.
Vlissingen Zingt' is organised by the Stichting Zomerfestival Vlissingen and Nederland Zingt Mee.
